International Student Care Package Initiative

In recent months, many people have had their lives turned completely upside down due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of us are concerned about keeping up with ongoing living expenses on a daily basis. While some of us have been fortunate to find support from relatives, friends, and other external assistance, there are clusters of international students living in our neighbourhoods who find themselves far away from home without any close contacts to act as a support system.

Our vision is for the London community to become that support system for international students and come alongside them during this time of need by providing care packages. 

Let’s embrace these students so they know they are not alone. Let’s give them an opportunity to connect with others now and potentially year-round, form community, experience Canadian culture, and be encouraged with practical, spiritual, and social support.

Ways You Can Help

Current volunteer opportunities include:

  • Praying for our International Student community
  • Gathering care package items
  • Offering goods/services to go in packages
  • Putting care packages together
  • Delivering packages to students

Together We Can Do This!

After a successful pilot launch with 100 students, we are doing another round in September 2020 with 200 students. Your donation will support care package costs, and any unused donations will be used in future initiatives. In recognition of your valued contribution to this initiative, your logo will be added to our website and shared with students, volunteers, and the broader community. As well, you will receive invitations to participate in international student community events throughout the year.
